The City of Orinda is a family-oriented community in a semi-rural valley on the east side of the Oakland/Berkeley hills in the San Francisco Bay Area. It offers its 17,500 residents a serene setting in contrast to the more urban existence of the surrounding area. Orinda is situated immediately east of the Caldecott Tunnel on Highway 24 and is served by a Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) station.

The Castro Theatre is located in the heart of San Francisco. This single-screen cinema is located at 429 Castro Street, near the intersection of Market and 17th Streets, at the northern entrance of San Francisco's famous Castro District. Once a regular old working-class area, Castro transformed throughout the 1960s and 70s into one of the very first gay neighborhoods in the US, as immortalized in Gus van Sant's Milk.
